The European Commission recently added CBG to the cosmetic ingredients database  deeming the compound safe for use in skin care and beauty products.

Cannabigerol is one of approximately 120 cannabinoids identified in the cannabis plant, and is also known as 'the mother molecule', because it is the precursor to all other cannabinoids such as CBD (cannabidiol), CBN (cannabinol), CBC (cannabichromene), THC and THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid).

CBG, just like CBD, has no psychotropic effects and, at the same time, has numerous anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties that help the endocannabinoid system maintain healthy skin function.

To date, cosmetic ingredients have been added to the CosIng database:

· naturally derived CBD

· synthetic CBD 

· Hemp leaves

· The CBG
